Does the MS1 come with an SSD included, or do I need to buy one separately?

The MS1 is an enclosure only. You will need to purchase an M.2 NVMe SSD separately.
The great news is that our tool-free design supports a wide range of universal sizes: 2230, 2242, 2260, and full-size 2280 (M Key/B+M Key) up to 8TB.
Please note: M.2 SATA SSDs are not supported.

Will recording directly to the SSD drain my phone battery quickly?

Not with the MS1. We know long shoots require serious power. That’s why we built in a dedicated 100W PD input port. You can plug a 5000 mah power bank into the back of MS1, which will deliver up to 90W of pass-through charging directly to your phone while you simultaneously record massive data files.

NVMe drives get extremely hot. How does the MS1 handle thermal throttling?
